After a 2020 full of cancellations, the DSC is excited to present our 2021 Workshop and Events schedule. We will be offering workshops and certifications for various levels of experience. Since we are all still very much in the midst of a global pandemic, the DSC will strive to create a safe learning and working environment for all who participate. Click on the dates below for more information and to purchase and register.

Introductory Workshops are designed for drystone enthusiasts with little to no previous experience who would like to gain a basic understanding of dry stone construction techniques.  This workshop is also the standard point of entry for those who may have done trail work, landscaping, and hardscaping who wish to better their working knowledge of the craft. The pace will be comfortable and participants will learn the fundamental skills needed to build and repair a typical rock fence or retaining wall.

May 14-15 Intro Workshop (Friday-Saturday) Lexington, KY

The One Day Stone Dressing Clinic is designed for people who have already taken a workshop and would like to gain some basic skills on how to process, cut, split, shape, and finish stone for various commonly-encountered drystone applications.   Participants will be working with hand and power tools.  This workshop will be led by DSC Master Craftsman, Richard Tinsley. If the clinic is sold out, email dscadmin@drystone.org to be put on the waitlist.

The self-paced two-day workshop will be useful for novice masons who are trying to hone their skill and who might wish to attempt certification in the future.
